Bad Graghics, The rides go down a big drop, but they don't go fast up the next hill? Roller coaster tycoon is ALOT better.

I had the PC version first and was very disappointed with this version. AFter you get the park set up and pass the first 3 challenges, there are no more challenges for you to meet which was a huge part of the PC version. I actually left the game running and left the room for 3 hours after setting up a park, and I had made $100,000 and everyone was happy.

I guess the trick to this game is to not play it.

If you like to build roller costers this game is for you it is challenging and fun. Here are the pros and cons

pros: Fun neat rides, camcorter feature(lets you ride the rides)

cons: Bad graphics, not enough rides, and the entertaners always go on strike.

Overall this game is very good. If you own roller coaster tycoon that is far better (excpet you can't ride your rides). If you don't buy that insteaed!!

Not too shabby., August 3, 2002

An enjoyable game, but with PS2 and X-Box, it doesn't compare graphics wise. I am still glad I bought it though.

Ok, you problably arnt going to read this but I read a bunch of other reviews and most of them say "The graphics are bad, get Roller Coaster Tycoon!!" RCT is just plain boring to me! it seems like you just build a roller coaster and thats it. WEll in this game you build a theme park and to me, that sounds ALOT better! This is a game for kids (or adults!) who arnt interested that much in graphics and stuff and just want a game that is fun! If you have a sense of humor, get this game!!! Its really worth it!

Low graphics, hard to do, June 13, 2002

I loved the Sim Theme Park game on PC, and when my brother got a PS1 for his birthday I went right out and bought the Sim Theme Park for Playstation1. Well, I was dissapointed. The graphics have been reduced greatly. It is also difficult to create a park (in my opinion), and the it takes a while for our version to load. However, there may be a scratch or so on it, since I did get it used (I am cheap lol). However, most Playstation 1 games have lower graphics so, it isn't that bad. But honestly, I like the PC version much better than the PS1 version.
Pros:
1) Fun creating your own theme park
2) The great PC game comes to PS1!

Cons:
1) PC version better
2) Low graphics
3) Controls are difficult

Was hoping for a little more "reality" but the game was entertaining anyway.

I have played Sim theme park for PC and it was great so this will probably be the best.

A Fun Game to Play...and then come back to Later, March 26, 2002

I like all the "Sim" games...the original Sim City, Sim City 2000, 3000, Sim Farm, Sim Tower...so I bought this for the Playstation. This game has a lot of the same ideas...you have to keep your customers happy by building enough food shops, drink shops, rides, etc. You also have to hire staff and manage them. (The entertainers like to go on strike a lot). You can also build roller coasters and track rides. All of the other rides are "pre built" and you just place them down. It is fun...and as you get gold tickets for doing something right (like placing enough trash cans by your food stands). After getting 2 gold tickets, you can open a new park. The first park is a regular theme park type. Others include: a Halloween theme, a space theme, and a little kids/worms and apples type theme (my least favorite so I don't know what to call it). There are two different of each style parks to play in.

I give it only 4 stars because I found myself getting bored a lot sooner than usual when playing Sim type games. There aren't enough options and you run out of room so quickly...if you build too far out, your customers don't/won't go that far to walk. So I played it non stop for like a week and then put it away...but just like all the others, I pulled it back out about 6 months later and did the same thing again. It is worth playing if you like the "Sim" games...just not as good as the pc based games.

This is one of the best games I Have ever played. It Can be hard until you get use to it but once you figure it out it can be very fun but i sugest that you don't use the money cheat because it takes the fun out because there is no challenge and the challenge is what makes the game fun the camcorder and gold ticket cheat are useful and they don't ruin the challenge by just making it to easy. but anyway I like this game because it isn't too simple like most of the games now the point of the game is to make a theme park ,keep the customers happy, and make money instead of going bankrupt. The only bad thing about the game is thatthe advisor that pops up gets a bit anoying but you should pay attention anyways to him because he is anoying but useful for keeping the customers and workers happy.
